West Des Moines, IA — Telligen is excited to announce that it has been selected to partner with the Illinois Department of Healthcare & Family Services (HFS) to perform quality assurance (QA) record reviews (e.g., Record Audits) for the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waivers for Persons who are Elderly and Persons with HIV/AIDS. The work successfully launched in April 2024.

Telligen coordinates with state waiver operating agencies, local offices, and other designated agencies to complete QA record reviews. During these reviews, Telligen assesses the agencies’ compliance with various performance measures for each waiver.

These measures include ensuring customers meet eligibility requirements for HCBS Waivers, informing customers of their rights under the waiver process, and verifying that Person-Centered Plans (PCPs) meet specified requirements and address identified risks and personal goals. Additionally, Telligen ensures that services are implemented according to the PCPs and that providers have systems in place to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of waiver customers.

“Telligen is excited to work with Illinois HFS to ensure that individuals receiving HCBS Waivers receive the highest standard of care and support,” said Neal Cohen, vice president of state health solutions at Telligen. “We want to ensure services are not only delivered as clinically necessary, but that they make a real difference in people’s lives.”
